More than ten years ago there was nothing but potato fields – no horses, no riders. Right now here in “Zustrenes” is an area of 22 hectares with stables for 38 horses, also stables for summer time, 2 riding areas with stands for 750 viewers, the biggest horse area in Latvia 2176 square metres of area as well as nice house for employees, bathhouse where discussions are going on about plans and achievements. The Society was founded on 20 April 2007.
Territory was transformed by a small group of enthusiasts and within a short period of time, the area became unrecognisable. They wanted to prove that horse riding can be organised professionally also in Latvia. After years of collaboration, every employee knows their responsibilities and goals. Competitions also would not be possible without volunteering – students and other youngsters. These people love horses and loves to be part of our team.
Our goal is to become the most advanced rider sports complex in Eastern Europe. Of Course there are always areas where you can grow and that’s why our Society are ready for new challenges, for new purposes so that Young Riders’ Riding Schools’ territory could grow much more faster.
The Young Riders’ Riding School offers tours for children and adults around the equestrian centre. During the tour it is possible to get acquainted with the site – to see the largest equestrian sport arena in Latvia, the outdoor sand schools, stables, and also to meet the inhabitants of the school – the horses and ponies. During the tour there is the opportunity to go for a ride on horses and ponies, and also to feed the horses. A representative from the Young Riders’ Riding School will also talk about the work of the riding school, about what is involved in equestrian sport, and what disciplines are taught at the Young Riders’ Riding School. We organise tours by prior appointment for group and individual visits!
